A 55-year-old man from New Bedford died on Oct. 27 following an apparent drug overdose.

According to Detective Kyle Costa of the Dartmouth Police Department, the man was found at the Moby Dick Motel on State Road early Tuesday morning by a friend.

The man, whom police would not identify, was found with drug paraphernalia at the scene, leading police to suspect his death was related to an overdose.

Costa said the man’s body was turned over to the state’s medical examiner as per protocol.
