The Dartmouth Cultural Center at the Olde Southworth Library in Padanaram will be hosting an opening reception at 6 - 8 p.m. on Saturday, October 5 for an exhibit by artist Carolyn Lock.
The exhibit, called ‘Detour’, will run from October 5 until November 4 at the Olde Southworth Gallery. Visitors are welcome Wednesdays through Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Inspired by local scenes, Carolyn Lock paints her subjects from a background of architectural and graphic experience working with perspective, scale, and expressive color.
Lock — a member of South Coast Artists — was recently published in Boston Voyager, and was quoted as saying that she likes rust. “It reminds us that nothing is permanent,” she stated.
All are welcome to see Lock’s renderings of rust on the fishing fleets.
