Olga R. (da Mota) Linhares, 91, of Dartmouth, died Saturday, April 11, 2020 at Brandon Woods of Dartmouth following a period of declining health. She was the widow of Humberto M. Linhares and daughter of the late Manuel R. and Maria da Gloria (Cabral) da Mota.

Born in Povoaçao, St. Michael, Azores, she came to this country in 1969 and was a parishioner of Our Lady Of Mount Carmel Church.

Mrs. Linhares was a devoted homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her large family.

Her family includes 4 sons, Antonio Linhares and his wife, Mary and Erneste Linhares and his wife, Espirito Santo, all of New Bedford, Michael Linhares of Dartmouth and the late Dennis Linhares; 4 daughters, Naciemento De Melo and Normenia Medeiros and her husband, Alfred, all of New Bedford, Zenaida M. Da Rosa and her husband, Antonio of Dartmouth and Maria Ines Araujo and her husband, Manny of Westport; 18 grandchildren, Mario, Lucia, the late Humberto, Elizabeth, Claudiana, the late Delfino, Maxcemim, Bobby, Suzie, Alfred, Sally, Danny, Wayne, Samantha, Melissa, Patrick, Jason and Stacy; 20 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Joao da Mota, Cecilia Medeiros, Conceicao Amaral, Maria Jose Cabral and Maria de Espirito Santo Cabral.

Due to the current mandate regarding public gatherings, her service and interment are private and a Memorial Mass will be celebrated at a later date.
