Alderbrook Farm, a fixture of the Russells Mills village for decades, will officially close its farm stand on December 31. However, the community and fans of the farm are invited to an open house to celebrate its legacy and owners Nancy and Allen Manley in January.

The Manleys announced in October that the farm stand would shut down once all products are sold. The farm itself will remain in operation, and the farm stand will re-open for special events like Christmas tree sales.

To celebrate the legacy of the farm and its owners, a special “Open House” event, organized by neighbors of the farm, will be held on January 12, 2020 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Dartmouth Grange Hall, 1133 Fisher Road.

Fans will be able to write down their memories of the farm, and contribute letters, photos, artwork, and other memorabilia for inclusion in an  album.

Parking is limited in the village, so organizers are asking people to carpool and share rides with friends and family.

Parking is allowed on the side of Fisher Road where the Grange Hall is, at Alderbrook Farm itself, Salt Marsh Pottery, and other locations. Signs will direct visitors to parking areas.

Those wishing to honor the farm's legacy with donations can contribute to the Manleys’ favorite charities: the Dartmouth Grange, the Dartmouth Historical and Arts Society, or the Shriners Burn Unit. Donations to these charities can be made at the event.
