Registration is now open for the South Coast Bikeway Alliance (SCBA)’s second annual Pedal for the Path bike ride fundraiser, which will take place on Sunday, August 18 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., rain or shine.

Beginning and ending at the Dartmouth YMCA, Pedal for the Path offers three different routes: 57 miles, 20 miles, and 10 miles — plus ice cream and a donut along the way.

Yesteryear Cyclery will provide assistance during the cycle as needed. A post-ride celebration will feature food and beverages for purchase.

All funds raised on the day will go towards an engineering feasibility study for Dartmouth, New Bedford, and Westport sections of a multi-use South Coast Bikeway spanning from Swansea to Wareham.

Sections have already been completed in Fall River, Fairhaven, New Bedford and Mattapoisett.

Maps and cue sheets will be available on the SCBA website as soon as the route has been finalized, and at check-in on the day of the ride. Helmets and water bottles are a must. Snacks and water refills will be provided at checkpoints along the routes.

Space is limited, so early registration is recommended.
