Police celebrate Pats win, poke fun at Goodell

Feb 6, 2017

The Dartmouth Police has built a reputation for its comedic responses to current events. While some news events have inspired viral videos from the department — see the "clown craze" video sparked by the nationwide clown sightings — others prompt a humorous press release.

Following the New England Patriots' 34-28 win against the Atlanta Falcons — a historic feat earned in overtime during Super Bowl LI on February 5 — the department released this statement:

Upon the completion of Super Bowl LI, an independent investigation, now coined 'Deflategate Two' was launched.

The investigation stems from the unexpected deflation of Roger GOODELL’s ego at the completion of the game.

Though the investigation is still in its early stages, it was reported that a very happy and smiling Tom BRADY was in close proximity to GOODELL when the incident took place.

No further information is available at this time.

The statement pokes fun at National Football League Commissioner Roger Goodell, who stripped the Pats of two draft picks and suspended Quarterback Tom Brady for the first four games of the 2016 season.
