Police extend ‘No Shave November’ for a second month

Dec 4, 2018

The Dartmouth Police Department is declaring this month No Shave December as it extends the popular fundraiser for a second month. Already, the department has raised more than $5,800 for the Children’s Advocacy Center of Bristol County, and officers hope to raise even more.

No Shave November is an annual fundraiser in which participants grow their beards to raise money for nonprofits. The Children’s Advocacy Center of Bristol County provides services to children who have been abused or have witnessed violence. The Center also helps adults with intellectual disabilities. The organization has served more than 5,600 children and families.

“It’s a great cause and we’ve had good luck so far,” said Chief Brian Levesque, who said officers have been enjoying the fundraiser.
