Registrations are now being accepted for the Padanaram Village 5K Road Race, which will be held on Saturday, October 15 at 10 a.m.

Now in its sixth year, the road race will begin at Apponagansett Park. The first 150 people to register will receive a free t-shirt. Entry fee is $25; $30 the day of the race.

The event will also feature facepainting, pizza, music, and more. Awards will be presented to the overall top male and female finishers, and the first, second and third place winners in various age categories, from 14 and under to 70 and over.

Proceeds from the 5K will benefit Mission to Liberia, a Rochester-based nonprofit that helps build schools and medical clinics in the country. The program also provides children's books, textbooks, and encyclopedias to school children.
