Rita Leverett, 89
Rita E. Morrissette Leverett, 89, of Dartmouth, passed away on April 5, 2017 at Sarah Brayton Nursing Home.
Leverett was the wife of the late Lloyd A. Leverett. She was born in Fall River, the daughter of the late Ovila Morrissette and the late Yvonne (Watts) Morrissette. She resided in Fall River until she married Lloyd, who was a 30-year Navy veteran.
She served as an Ombudswoman in Newport, RI before moving Dartmouth. She also worked in the Housekeeping Department at St. Luke's Hospital for over 15 years. She resided at Munroe Senior Apartments in Dartmouth and enjoyed crocheting, knitting, bingo, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She leaves two sons: Thomas Leverett and his wife Yvette, and Michael Leverett and his wife Pauline, both of Westport; two daughters: Patricia Kappelman and her husband Charles of Oakdale, CT, and Michelle Rosario and her husband Luis of Springhill, FL.
She was the sister of Theresa Campbell of Churchton, Maryland, Jacqueline Yokel of Dartmouth and Arthur Morrissette of Texas, and Wilfred, Frederic and Raymond Morrissette. She leaves behind 12 grandchildren: Katherine, Christopher, Christine, Tanya, Michael, Jaime, Brian, Kimberly, Sara, Timothy, Thomas and Luis. She was the great grandmother of 24 and the late Nicholas Kappelman. She also leaves many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral mass on April 10 at St. Mary’s Church at 11 a.m. Visiting hours are 9-10:30 a.m. at Waring-Sullivan Home at Dartmouth, 230 Russells Mills Road. Interment will be at Notre Dame Ceremtary, Fall River.
