On August 14, Len Gauvin and his wife Beth, owners of Salvador's Ice Cream on Smith Neck Road, are throwing an 80th birthday party for the historical landmark.

Cat Country 98.1 will be playing and giving out prizes 12-2 p.m., said Gauvin. There will also be games, face painting, and raffles, he said.

Gauvin said the staff will be celebrating most of the day, and he hopes to get George Salvador—son of the original owner Agustine Salvador—as well as members of the Dartmouth Historical and Arts Society there.
