See Charlie Brown and his friends at Dartmouth Middle’s upcoming drama production

Mar 24, 2019

Dartmouth Middle School students will take the stage to bring Charlie Brown, Snoopy, and their friends to life.

Drama program students are busy rehearsing their lines and donning their costumes for the school’s showing of You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown on April 4 and 5. It’s a production that hits close to home for the school’s new theater director, Alex Bernardo.

“Fifteen years ago, I was in You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown here on this stage,” Bernardo said.” “It was my first musical I acted in, so I thought it was a perfect choice for it to be my directorial debut as well.”

Now, a new crop of actors and actresses will lead the production.

Mason Langlois will take on the role of the production’s titular character, Charlie Brown.

“He’s really clumsy, but I don’t know why but I relate to him,” Langlois said.

While his favorite scene in the show is the back-and-forth conversation Charlie Brown has with Lucy van Pelt at her “The Doctor is In” booth, the show overall features themes and content that Langlois noted will appeal to everyone.

“The music is really good, and there’s a feel-good vibe of this show that just feels amazing,” Langlois said.

Portraying Lucy is Gwen Terceira. The sassy, selfish personality of Lucy made it easy for Terceira to get into character.

“I’m very sarcastic in real life and I’m very sassy in real life, so it’s easy for me to be on stage as Lucy,” Terceira said.

Robbie Sioch plays the toy piano-playing Schroeder, one of Charlie Brown's friends and baseball teammates. Being musically inclined, Sioch likes Schroeder’s affinity for classical hits.

“Being able to play the piano and have that love of music and famous musicians and composers,” Sioch plays. “I love Beethoven Day, it’s one of my solo songs that’s really fun.”

Tyler Breault plays Linus. Growing up, Breault shared one of Linus’s signature traits: carrying a blanket around. It’s a quality of Linus Breault is excited to perform.

Ava Forrand will perform as Sally Brown, Charlie Brown’s younger, upbeat sister.

“I really like how happy she is,” Forrand said.

Sophia Senra takes her spot on top of the red doghouse in her role as Snoopy. She holds one thing in common with her character: Her occasional disinterest in conversation.

“Snoopy, most of the time, he’s just uninterested in everything and he’s also obsessed with food,” Senra said. “In real life when someone’s talking to me, most of the time I really don’t care.”

See these characters, and more than 40 other students who participate in the show. Showtimes for You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown are April 4 and April 5 at 7 p.m. at the Dartmouth Middle School auditorium, 366 Slocum Road.

Tickets for both performances will be available to purchase at the door.
