Sep 17, 2019

An early morning crash on Tuesday on Route 195 near the Faunce Corner Road exit in Dartmouth has resulted in serious injuries.

A preliminary investigation by State Trooper Adam Rego indicates that at about 2:30 a.m. on September 17, a 41-year-old man from Stratford, Connecticut was traveling at high speed on I-195 Eastbound in a 2009 Mitsubishi Eclipse.

The man lost control and crashed into the guardrail near Exit 12. He was thrown from the car in the impact.

A 2004 Dodge Ram, which was traveling eastbound in that area made slight contact with the Mitsubishi as it maneuvered to avoid a collision.

The Mitsubishi driver and his passenger, a 24-year-old Brockton woman, were both transported to Rhode Island Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.  No one in the Dodge was injured in the crash.

State Police were assisted on scene by Dartmouth Fire and EMS and Dartmouth Police.

This crash is still under investigation with help from the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, Crime Scene Services Section, and troopers assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office. No charges have been filed at this time.
