Shelia A. (Silva) Cote, 73

Shelia A. (Silva) Cote, 73, of Dartmouth passed away unexpectedly Friday, May 8, 2020 in St. Luke’s Hospital. She was the mother of Matthew Cote and Melissa Hills — both of Dartmouth.

Born a daughter of the late George and Palmeda (Gomes) Silva she was a lifelong area resident. Shelia worked for New England Telephone, which later became Verizon first as a telephone operator then as an E 911 Data Entry operator. She was graduate of Dartmouth High School, class of 1964. Shelia loved her children, especially her grandson Ryan. She lived in her home that was built by her father when she married.

She enjoyed reading, shopping, being on the boat with her sister; she loved to travel and entertained family and friends over 50 years on Christmas Eve. Shelia was a vibrant woman and lit the room up when she entered.

In addition to her children and grandson; she is survived by her daughter in-law Maureen Cote and son in-law Dennis Elliott; her siblings, Robert Silva and his wife Myrna of Dartmouth, George Silva and his wife Judy of East Bridgewater and Ann Marie Gautreau and her husband Marcel of Dartmouth; her former husband Lawrence E. Cote and several nieces and nephews.
