A “Sign and Dash” book sale will take place at the Cottages at Dartmouth Village on September 2 from 3 to 4 p.m. for all those interested in purchasing a signed copy of German POW and Cottages resident Fred Hanack’s autobiography, “Wanderer Between Two Worlds.”

Fred Hanack grew up in Germany in the 1930s, joining the Wehrmacht at 17 before being taken prisoner by the Russians. After his release he emigrated to Dartmouth, where he worked for the town as the Superintendent of Public Works.

A signed copy of his book costs $15. Reservations for the Sign and Dash sale are required by Aug. 31.
