The Greater New Bedford Choral Society is celebrating 60 years this May at its annual Spring Concert.

Hear them sing Sunday, May 18 at 3 p.m. at Grace Episcopal Church, 133 School Street in New Bedford.

This season, the choral society includes 19 singers from Dartmouth. The chorus, which welcomes singers of all experience levels without auditions, draws members from several South Coast towns including Westport, Acushnet, Lakeville, Fairhaven and New Bedford.

The performance will feature Haydn’s “Te Deum,” Handel’s “Coronation Anthem No. 4,” a selection of show tunes and an original work by Raymond Buttero. The group will be accompanied by pianist Eric Mazonson and a chamber orchestra of local area musicians.

Tickets are $20 and will be available at the door.

Founded in 1964, the Greater New Bedford Choral Society presents two major concerts annually and has a history of collaborations with the New Bedford Symphony and other local music groups. This season’s program is supported in part by grants from the Dartmouth, Freetown, and Westport Cultural Councils.
