St. Mary’s Catholic Church is hosting a free Bible study for those interested in learning how the study of the Bible can increase your faith.

On Tuesday, October 17, The Gospel of Mark and the Kingdom of God will be offered in the parish hall from 6:30 to 8:15 p.m. that evening (with a brief break).

Mark’s Gospel is action-packed and the group will explore some of the more prominent themes, including the Mystery of the Kingdom of God, the Messianic Secret, Discipleship, and others.

The group is led by Michael Hickey, M-Div., Weston/Boston College School of Theology and Ministry and author of five previously published books on the Catholic/Christian faith.

He and his wife, Theresa, have been parishioners of St Mary’s and Dartmouth residents for seven years.

St. Mary’s is located at 783 Dartmouth Street.

The study is free but a Bible is necessary. There will be a few New American Catholic study Bibles available to borrow.

Donations gratefully accepted.
