Stasia A. Craig, 89

May 9, 2017

Stasia Ann (Schick) Craig, 89, of North Dartmouth, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on May 3, 2017 after a long illness. She was the beloved wife of James M. Craig for 67 years.

Born in New Bedford, Stasia worked as a clerk for the Dartmouth Conservation Commission, as well as the Secretary to the Principal at two New Bedford area elementary schools--Casmir Pulaski and Phillips Avenue--retiring from the latter in 1995.

She was a charter member of the Ladies' Guild at St. Julie Billiart Church. She was proud of her Polish heritage, which influenced her lifelong passion for cooking and baking. She also enjoyed nature walks, gardening, dancing, animals, and gazing at beautiful flowers. But above all, Stasia cherished family gatherings and celebrating special times together.

In addition to her husband, survivors include a daughter, Susan E. Craig of North Dartmouth; two sons, James J. Craig of Fairhaven and Jeffrey D. Craig of Riverside, RI; and two grandchildren, Justine M. Alves and Christopher C. Alves.

A private burial was held at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. For tributes and online registration visit www.waring-sullivan.com.
