On-street parking ban Monday as winter storm looms

Feb 1, 2021

The Dartmouth Department of Public Works has announced a parking ban in effect from noon on Monday, Feb. 1 through noon on Tuesday, Feb. 2 due to expected snowfall from a winter storm.

No parking will be allowed on the hydrant side of streets. If there is no hydrant, residents should park on the even house numbered side.

The announcement comes as a National Weather Service winter storm warning remains in effect in the southeastern Massachusetts region from 7 a.m. Feb. 1 until 1 a.m. Feb. 2., with snowfall of 6-14 inches and wind gusts as high as 50 mph expected.

The snow will likely turn to rain or wintry mix later in the afternoon, according to the weather service.

“Travel could be very difficult to impossible,” the warning notes. “If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.”
