Play baseball.
The annual John B. Steele Tournament will kick off at 5:30 p.m. at Crapo Field, located at 225 Russells Mills Road, and run through Sunday. Younger divisions are scheduled to play August 11-13. Visit dyaahome.org for the complete schedule.

The Northeast 3x3 Basketball Federation will run its first summer tournament at the Burgo Basketball Association Courts, located at 101 Slocum Road. The three-day event is anticipated to attract 150 teams and 600 players. For more information, visit ne3x3hoop.com.
Set sail.
Sailors from across the country will take to the waters of Padanaram Harbor for the annual Buzzards Bay Regatta, August 4-6. Harbor starts are scheduled for 9 a.m. on each day. For more information, visit buzzardsbayregatta.com.
Enjoy first-hand survival stories.
Dartmouth author Holly FitzGerald will present her book, "Ruthless River: Love and Survival by Raft on the Amazon’s Relentless Madre de Dios," at 6 p.m. at Southworth Library. The book tells the real-life story of FitzGerald's months-long quest to escape a South American jungle after a storm blew her homemade raft off-course.

Reel in the big one.
The Dartmouth Knights of Columbus will host its annual kids' fishing derby at Mello’s Pond (on Old Westport Road, one mile west of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth), 7-10 a.m. The competition is open to children ages six through 16. Dash for nature.
Allens Pond Wildlife Sanctuary will host its Ducky Dash 5K Road Race, 8-10 a.m. The race route is from the sanctuary's 1280 Horseneck Road property to Gooseberry Island in Westport and back. The race fee is $20 per person. Online registration is open until August 4, but runners may register starting at 7 a.m. on race day. For more information, visit massaudubon.org.
Chill out to bells.
Acupuncturist Deb Stevens will lead a gong bath at 351 Elm Street, 6:30-8 p.m. A gong bath is a form of sound therapy using Tibetan gongs, bowls, and bells to help participants relax. The cost is $20 per person. Bring a yoga mat, pillow, and blanket to lie down on, or a zero-gravity lounge chair.
Monday, August 7
Enjoy a lady’s night out on the water.
The Lloyd Center invites women to a ladies' canoe ride on the Slocums River, 5:30-8 p.m. All equipment will be provided. Those attending are asked to wear clothing they don't mind getting wet. The cost is $25 for Lloyd Center members, and $30 for non-members. Advance registration is required; visit lloydcenter.org.

Find shoreline birds.
The Wildlife Sanctuary’s next Junior Bird Club meeting is at 6 p.m. at the sanctuary's 1280 Horseneck Road location. The meeting will feature a saltmarsh bird walk. The program is free, and open to children and adults of all ages. The club meets monthly and includes hands-on field studies and guided birding walks. For more information, visit massaudubon.org.
