Friday, November 16

Experience the theater.

The SouthCoast Children’s Theatre will perform “Arsenic and Old Lace” on Friday at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 1 p.m. Performances will be held at St. Mary’s Parish Hall, 783 Dartmouth St. Tickets cost $15 for adults and $12 for children and seniors over age 65.

Saturday, November 17

Trot with the Turkeys.

The Lloyd Center at 430 Potomska Rd. is hosting a Turkey Trot from 10 a.m. to noon. Participants will make turkey callers and head out on the trails for a guided walk to search for turkeys. Pre-registration is required online at www.lloydcenter.org, and costs $5 for members, $7 for non-members, $15 for a family of four members, or $21 for a family of four non-members.

Buy a mattress.

The Dartmouth High School Music Department is holding their second annual mattress fundraiser from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the cafeteria at the High School, 555 Bakerville Rd. Every purchase will benefit the music department. All sizes of mattress will be available from many name brands. There will be free layaway and delivery upon request. St. George Holiday Fest.

The St. George Ladies Philoptochos Society is hosting its annual Holiday Fair featuring raffles, crafts, and Greek lunches and desserts, including Spanakopita, Gyros, Greek Salad, Baklava and Almond Rolls. The fair will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday at the Church, 186 Cross Rd.

Explore a farm.

Round the Bend Farm will hosting its second to last Open Farm Day of the season. At noon, learn how to process pumpkins and make them into muffins, or take a tour of the farm at 11 a.m. or 2 p.m. Farm fresh goods including vegetables, honey, teas, and meat will be for sale.

Sunday, November 18

Learn about the Russell Garrison site.

The Dartmouth Historical and Arts Society will present “The History of the Russell Garrison Site,” a lecture by Holly Herbster of the Public Archaeology Laboratory. The site was home to John Russell, one of Dartmouth’s founding proprietors, and was the site of several incidents in King Phillip’s war. Light refreshments will be served and a $5 donation is suggested. The lecture will be held at 2:30 p.m. at the Dartmouth Grange Hall, located at 1133 Fisher Rd.

Tuesday, November 20

Celebrate Thanksgiving at the YMCA.

The YMCA is hosting its second annual “Friendsgiving” Pot Luck Lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Celebrate Thanksgiving with your YMCA family and old and new friends. Sign up at the Welcome Center and let the Y know what you want to bring. Plates, cups, utensils, and beverages will be provided. Call 508-999-3361 for more information.

Watch volleyball for charity.

The DHS National Honor Society is hosting a volleyball tournament at 5 p.m. in the DHS gym. Teams of Dartmouth community members, DHS students, alumni, and faculty will play in the event. Tickets are $5 if purchased before and $7 at the door. All proceeds from the event will go the the American Refugee Committee. There will also be a raffle and bake sale.
