Fill the bus toy drive
The Dartmouth Police Department is hosting its annual Fill the Bus toy drive.
Buses from Tremblay’s will be collecting the toys, which will primarily be given to kids in Dartmouth.
Toys and gifts should be new, unwrapped and in their original packaging.
The Council on Aging will also be selecting toys from the drive to help grandparents who find it difficult to financially provide for their grandchildren.
The event is taking place at Target at 479 State Road from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Toy drive
The Tyler Joseph Leonard Memorial Foundation is hosting a toy drive at the Stackhouse Club Fairgrounds.
Donations will be going to Child & Family Services and Fostering Children’s Precious Moments, as well as a local family in need.
Only new, unwrapped toys should be donated.
The event goes from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 16 Faith Street. In the event of inclement weather, donations can be dropped off inside.
Herald in the holiday
Join the New Bedford Symphony Orchestra at the North Branch Library for a Christmas music concert.
The concert will feature classic holiday songs, Christmas carols and other seasonal favorites.
The Friends of the Dartmouth Public Libraries is hosting the event, which is free and open to the public.
The concert starts at 1:30 p.m. at 211 Cross Road.

Tree lighting ceremony
Get into the holiday spirit by attending the annual Town Hall tree lighting ceremony.
There will be festivities for kids, including raffles, a photo station, crafts and games. There will also be music, refreshments and even some special visitors.
The event is from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. at 400 Slocum Road. The rain date is Sunday, Dec. 8.
Tea with the Grinch
Enjoy a cup of afternoon tea and a light meal inspired by Whos and Whoville and meet the Grinch himself at the Killer B’s Gym.
Menu items include roast beef, chocolate chip scones, mini cannolis, black cinnamon spice tea and hot chocolate with mini marshmallows.
The event begins at 2 p.m. and ends promptly at 4 p.m. at 718 Dartmouth Street.
Registration is required for the event and costs $35 per person. Guests can register on the Killer B’s Gym website.
Sunday, Dec. 8
Craft Fair
Shop local this holiday season at a craft fair hosted by the Allendale Country Club.
Crafters and small businesses will be set-up throughout the club and kids will have the opportunity to meet and take a picture with Santa.
All of the proceeds from the event and a raffle will be donated to Catholic Social Services and will support two teen shelters.
Tickets for the raffle will cost $1 per item, $5 for seven items and $10 for 15 items.
To get free raffle tickets, bring personal hygiene products, toothbrushes, body wash or deodorant to donate.
The event runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 1047 Allen Street.
Brunch with Santa
Enjoy a brunch buffet with Santa to kick-off the Christmas season.
The event will take place at the Cask & Pig where there will be a carving station, cookie decorating with North Pole Patrol and a hot chocolate bar. Guests will also be able to create a keepsake craft ornament.
Reservations are required to attend. Tickets cost $32.95 for adults and $18.95 for kids 12 and under.
The event goes from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Cask & Pig at 780 State Road.
