Three Dartmouth men arrested for breaking and entering in New Bedford
Three Dartmouth natives were arrested on Wednesday night for breaking into the Airport Mini-Storage facility on Mount Pleasant St. in New Bedford, police said.
Kodie Lefevre, 19, of 787 Tucker Road and two 16 year-olds were charged with breaking and entering in the nighttime with intent to commit a felony and possession of burglary tools, police said. Lefevre was also charged with procuring alcohol for a minor, police said.
Detective Steven Vicente, a spokesman for the New Bedford Police Department, said officers responded to an alarm activation and found a fence had been cut and 17 storage units had the locks cut off.
The owner was present and reported seeing men running from the scene, according to police.
Vicente said the suspects didn't have enough time to steal any property before fleeing the scene.
Two officers stopped a 2003 Infinity leaving the cemetery across the street in a rush, Vincente added. They searched the car and found an open container of alcohol, a wrench, and bolt cutters.
The names of the juvenile suspects were not released by police.
