Town Administrator may be leaving Dartmouth

Dartmouth’s Town Administrator Shawn MacInnes may be leaving just two years after taking the position, according to the Cape Cod Times.

The newspaper reported that MacInnes is one of two finalists for a job as Wellfleet town administrator, replacing outgoing administrator Daniel Hoort.

The other finalist is Maria Broadbent, town manager in Berwyn Heights, Maryland, the Times reported.

MacInnes, a Sandwich resident, is currently finishing the second year of a three-year contract with Dartmouth.

The Cape Cod Times reported that the Wellfleet Select Board hopes to schedule interviews — whether in person or via videoconference — before June 8.

MacInnes replaced former town administrator David Cressman in July 2018 after spending 21 years as municipal operations director at the town of Yarmouth.

An engineer by trade, he began his career at the Yarmouth Department of Public Works before working his way up to manage a $15 million budget and 50 employees in his department.

In Dartmouth, he was selected from a pool of 49 applicants to oversee a budget of $85 million and hundreds of employees.
