Town Hall accepting donations for troops

Nov 30, 2015

The Town of Dartmouth is now accepting donations for the holiday giving tree. Donated items will be distributed to American troops deployed overseas.

Tags with requested items are available at the Town Clerk’s office. In addition, there is a list of requested “trial-sized” items. These smaller items will be assembled into bags that soldiers can keep in their backpacks while in the field.

Items for the packs include: aspirin, baby powder, beef jerky, books/magazines, eye drops, baby wipes, condiments, batteries, lip balm, dental floss, dry soup mix, small first aid kits, deodorant, hard candy, long shoelaces, foot powder, breath mints, tissue packs/toilet paper, mouthwash, disposable shavers, feminine products, shaving cream and snacks.

Items that will not be accepted: live plants, tobacco, alcohol, pork products, carbonated beverages, fresh fruit, flammable items and obscene or offensive material.

A box for donations is located outside of the Town Clerks office, room 203.
