Town vaccination clinic to start Saturday

Feb 3, 2021

The Covid-19 vaccination clinic run by the Dartmouth Board of Health will start giving doses of the vaccine to all those currently eligible on Saturday, Feb. 6 — but according to the town’s vaccination webpage, the clinic is already fully booked.

Director of Public Health Christopher Michaud announced the date of the first clinic on Feb. 3, noting that the town has a limited quantity of doses available.

In just over an hour after the announcement, all of the appointments were booked, officials stated.

The vaccine will be given to those eligible as part of Phase 1 or seniors aged 75 and older, who became eligible to receive the vaccination in the first stage of Phase 2 this week.

Appointments are required for the clinic, which will take place at Dartmouth High School, 555 Bakerville Road.

Those looking to book appointments for the vaccine can visit maimmunizations.org/clinic/search to find a clinic location, select a time for an appointment and fill out the attestation form.

When registering for an appointment, patients will be asked a number of pre-screening questions which will be asked again upon the time of their inoculations.

Patients should note that they will not be able to receive the vaccine if they are sick, in isolation with an active Covid-19 infection, or have been exposed to a known Covid-19 positive patient in the last 14 days as of the day of their appointment.

Those who have received any other vaccine in the past 14 days will also be ineligible to receive the Covid-19 vaccine.

If there are no appointments available through the link, the clinic is full. Residents are asked to remain patient and are encouraged to check the appointment webpage early and often each week as new appointments are added.

A second dose of the vaccine is required and you must receive the second dose at the same facility that you received the first dose.

The state has not yet announced when individuals aged 65 and older and those with two or more comorbidities will be able to receive the vaccine.

This will be announced when more information is available about when the federal government will be providing the state with additional doses of the vaccine.

Updates on the vaccination rollout, clinic dates, times and locations, and registration information will be posted to the town’s Covid-19 vaccination webpage as they become available.
