UMass Dartmouth to host discussion on Native American history

Oct 26, 2016

Professional educator Claudia A. Fox Tree, M.Ed. will host a discussion on Native American identity, culture and history on November 1 from 1 p.m. – 2 p.m. at the Claire T. Carney Library Grand Reading Room at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth.

The discussion will also touch on issues of stereotypes and historical inaccuracies in Native American history and heritage. Fox Tree's mission is to expand ideas about Native American heritage and role models, and explore the role of language and its power to change inaccurate stories about the First People of this land.
