UMass Dartmouth to host foreign-language music group

UMass Dartmouth’s Boivin Center for French Language and Culture will host Gained in Translation, a multilingual musical ensemble, at 2 p.m. on Monday, February 13 in the campus’s Marketplace.

The group is led by Victoria Richter, an adjunct professor of Slavic studies at Brown University, and includes songs written and performed in many languages by such artists such as Frank Sinatra, Dionne Warwick, Jobim, Los Panchos, Jacques Brel and Charles Aznavour, Edith Piaf and others.

Richter also holds English classes online to accommodate recent Ukrainian refugees to the area and has donated proceeds from her concerts to Sloika Bakery in the Ukraine, which has supported the Ukrainian people during the current conflict.
