Sep 3, 2019

On Friday, September 6, the Massachusetts Appeals Court will hold a special sitting on the South Coast at UMass Law in Dartmouth.

A panel of three judges will hear arguments in six criminal and civil cases in the Moot Courtroom at the law school, located at 333 Faunce Corner Road, starting at 9:30 a.m.

According to a statement released by UMass Law, the school recently began its academic year with 113 new students, a 21.5 percent increase over last year, bringing total enrollment of the Commonwealth’s only public law school to 279 students.

The statement went on to note that this incoming class is also the most academically qualified in the history of the school.

Through the law school’s curriculum and outreach clinics, UMass Law students have provided more than 100,000 hours of pro bono legal assistance and related community service across the Commonwealth.

UMass Law has established 3+3 programs with 11 colleges across Massachusetts to further reduce the cost of law school.
