United Way’s summer fund seeking applications
United Way of Greater New Bedford will award grants up to $5,000 each to nonprofits that help expand opportunities for camperships, teen summer employment, and cultural enrichment opportunities.
United Way partners with a wide variety of organizations helping them to extend their ability to provide a rich summer camp experience for children from low-income families and to add jobs for teens ages 16-21. In addition, cultural enrichment grants are awarded to organizations to help provide events and programs for all residents.
Nonprofits with a determined 501(c)(3) status are encouraged to apply. Visit www.unitedwayofgnb.org to access the guidelines and online application. Eligible programs must serve youth in Dartmouth, Acushnet, Fairhaven, Freetown, Marion, Mattapoisett, New Bedford, Rochester and Wareham. Applications are due by Friday, April 7.
Last year, United Way granted $108,000 to summer programming for youth in the Greater New Bedford community. Summer fund grants are made possible through a pooled fund of contributions from a number of local foundations.
