University professor to talk about his latest book publication
Professor Emeritus John H. Twomey will speak about life after retiring from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth on October 24
On Monday, October 24 at 4 p.m., Professor Emeritus John H. Twomey will speak in the Grand Reading Room on the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth campus about his life after retiring from the university.
Dr. Twomey taught for 37 years in the Department of Foreign Languages at UMass Dartmouth. The last eight years, Twomey served as department chair. After retiring in 2009, Twomey moved to his farm in Maine where he grows fruits and vegetables and with his partner, Leah Norcott. He also raises chickens and brook trout.
In his latest publication, Retiring To Not From, Twomey explores homesteading and gives details of farm life. A question and answer, book signing, and light reception will follow. Parking is available on campus in lot 13.
