Update: Tucker Road closed, downed wires
UPDATE: As of 3:30 p.m., local traffic is allowed through Tucker Road at this time. Residents living on the north side of the street through 1281 Tucker Road can gain access through Route 6; residents on the south side through 1271 Tucker Road can gain access via Allen Street.
Tucker Road is closed due to downed electrical wires for the second time this week.
Dartmouth Police responded to the 1300 block of Tucker Road, where a fallen tree knocked down wires around 11:54 a.m. Currently, the stretch of Tucker Road between Route 6 and Allen Street is currently closed off to drivers.
The Department of Public Works and Eversource Electric have both been notified, police said.
About 230 customers are currently without power, but Eversource estimates that power should be restored by 4 p.m.
