The Dartmouth Housing Authority and Partners in Housing, Inc. will host a grand opening ceremony and open house for the O’Connor-Sisson House for Veterans at 262 State Road on October 14 at 10 a.m. A brief speaking program will be followed by a two-hour open house.

After almost eight years of planning, nine efficiency style units will be ready for occupancy by tenants. The units will be fully furnished and the house and program comes with services that will be delivered through the Veterans’ Transition House in New Bedford as well as Coastline Elderly Services of New Bedford.

The Dartmouth Veterans Agent will also have office access so that he may better serve the clients on site.

While funds have been raised through private donations and grants, a fundraiser will be held on Saturday, November 12 at Fay’s of South Dartmouth from 1 p.m. -  4:00 p.m. to continue the support of various programs associated with this project.  Tickets for this cocktail party, at $35.00 per person, can be purchased from the Dartmouth Housing Authority at 2 Anderson Way or by calling 508-994-1424.
