The Southcoast Visiting Nurse Association will host its eighth annual “Hope Takes Flight” brunch and live butterfly release to benefit its Supportive Care Center on Sunday, September 15 at 10:30 a.m. at Rachel’s Lakeside, 950 State Rd. in North Dartmouth.

The event raises awareness and financial support for patients and families facing serious or life-limiting illness and includes a silent auction, wine pull and special guest speaker Ken Ross.

Ross is the son of the late psychiatrist, humanitarian and hospice pioneer, Dr. Elisabeth Kubler-Ross, and will speak about his experiences traveling with and caring for his mother.
