Voting in the April 6 town election? Here’s how

Apr 1, 2021

The town election in Dartmouth will take place on April 6.

On this year’s ballot are a number of candidates, Town Meeting members, and a ballot question about changing the Town Clerk position from elected to appointed (it is currently the only elected position on the town’s payroll.)

Residents can apply for a mail-in ballot by downloading and submitting a form on the town’s website.

Forms and ballots can be dropped off at the silver box outside Town Hall.

Ballots must be submitted by 8 p.m. on April 6.

Residents are also allowed to come in person to vote absentee at Town Hall from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. until election day, when polls open at local precincts from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Applications for mail-in ballots must be signed, but can be sent via email attachment to shaskellarruda@town.dartmouth.ma.us.

“We will be voting in the same place that people voted in September and November,” noted Town Clerk Sarah Arruda. “No changes at all.”
