Webster Bank donates to support Mendes-Monteiro House

Matt O’Connor, the Senior Financial Consultant and Vice President of Webster Bank, who also serves as the treasurer for Partners in Housing, Maria Connor of the Dartmouth Friends of the Elderly and Partners in Housing, Scott King and Nicole Mello, both of Webster Bank, and Connie Desbiens of the Dartmouth Housing Authority and Partners in Housing.
Webster Bank presented the Partners in Housing with a check for $7,500 on Nov. 28 to support the Mendes-Monteiro House Project. The project, which recently received Community Preservation Act funding at Town Meeting, will provide eight units of affordable housing for seniors who receive services from the Department of Mental Health.
Connie Desbiens, the executive director of the Dartmouth Housing Authority and the Clerk for Partners in Housing, said that the funds from Webster Bank will be used for engineering work. Partners in Housing, the house’s non-profit developer, hopes to break ground on the project in late fall 2019 and finish the project in late summer 2021.
The funds were awarded to Partners in Housing through the Community Reinvestment Act grant program, which aims to community, economic, and small business development.
