Wheely good time at Battleship Harley Davidson

May 30, 2023

Summer was in full vroom Thursday, May 25 as motorcyclists gathered for BikeNight at the Battleship Harley Davidson.

The event, which also featured music by Be Kind Rewind, served as a chance for bikers to gather, said Tammy Foisy, a member of the Battleship Harley Owners Group, also known as HOG.

The bikers share a “camaraderie,’’ she said, and welcome the chance to meet, catch up and check out their vehicles. There were hundreds of bikes in the back parking lot of the business.

Similar gatherings are held on the last Thursday of the month through the fall, she said.

The get-together draws “a mix of ages,’’ she said, from young people new to motorcycles to experienced riders such as Foisy, who has been spending free time on motorcycles for 30 years.

The event also serves as a way to introduce the motorcycle crowd to the newly renamed Battleship Harley Davidson, which was formerly known as Minuteman Harley Davidson.

Foisy described the attraction to motorcycles in one word: “Freedom.’’

“The freedom you get being out on the road ... you just don’t have a care in the world.’’
