The White Sox defeated the Athletics in the DYAA Junior League finals in dramatic fashion.

On the outstanding efforts of Matt Lariviere and Connor Bailey, the Athletics beat the A's 3-2 on Aug. 12 to force a final game on Aug. 14.

Friday's game started off with a bang, as Jack Joaquin hit the first pitch to deep center. Two outs later, he came home on a single by Jared Mauricio, putting the White Sox up 1-0.

The A's responded quickly in the bottom of the first to tie it up on an RBI single by Matt Lariviere that plated Mason Bouchard. The game stayed tied at 1-1 until the top of the 4th inning with good pitching and defense by both teams.

The White Sox forged ahead in the top of the 4th to take a 3-1 lead. Zak Arruda led off the inning with a double to deep left center field and came across on a Shreyas Rathod single to left field. Rathod came across to score on a single to right field by Ethan Barboza.
