Whitney Marques, 30

Feb 26, 2020

Whitney Marques, 30, of Hoboken, New Jersey and Dartmouth passed away Monday, February 24, 2020. She was the beloved daughter of Peter and Natercia (Camara) Marques and beloved sister of Ethan Marques.

Born in Fall River, Whitney was a 2007 graduate of Dartmouth High School and a 2011 graduate of UMASS School of Nursing receiving her Bachelor of Science degree. She was employed in New York City for Dex Designers as a fashion designer.

Whitney loved her family more than anything; she had a love of all things Portuguese, the food and culture and traveling to Portugal with her Vavo. Whitney was contagious, people gravitated to her when she entered the room, her smile was polarizing and she was a Ray of Sunshine. Whitney was always the life of the party. Whitney had a great love of music and was one of Jay-Z’s biggest fans. During her high school years she excelled at Softball and being on the Cheering squad. The world has lost one of its shining stars to say the least.

In addition to her father, mother and brother, she is survived by her paternal grandparents, Manuel and Grace Marques of Fall River; maternal grandmother, Emilia Camara of Fall River; her uncles, Kevin Marques and his wife Janet of Fall River, Edward Camara of Attleboro and Manny Camara and his wife Katherine of Fall River; her aunts, Brenda Marques of NJ, Christine Camara of ME, Nancy Garrity and her husband Jason of Westport, Andrea Rodrigues and her husband Philip of Somerset and Amanda Tatro and her husband Thomas of Somerset; and many, many loving cousins. She was the granddaughter of the late Manuel Camara.

Whitney’s funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2020 at 9 a.m. in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Dartmouth, 230 Russells Mills Road, South Dartmouth, MA 02748 followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Julie Billiart Church, 494 Slocum Road, Dartmouth, MA 02747.
