New Bedford police arrest Dartmouth man, seize 100 grams of heroin

A 28-year-old Dartmouth man was placed under arrest for drug trafficking charges and police seized more than 100 grams of heroin.
New Bedford police arrested Adam Sousa, 28, of 15 Cone St., South Dartmouth on Feb. 21 at approximately 7:30 p.m., according to Detective Captain Steven Vicente of the New Bedford police.
According to police, the street value of 100 grams of heroin is approximately $10,000.
Detective Jonathan Lagoa had been investigating a heroin dealing delivery service being operated in the area by the suspect. Sousa was taken into custody after being spotted leaving a supermarket off Route 18, police said.
Sousa has been arraigned in New Bedford District court on trafficking heroin charges.
