Four injured, one dead in car crash on Old Fall River Road

Dartmouth police and other emergency vehicles investigated where a car had crashed into a utility pole in the area of 1214 Old Fall River Road on May 29 at approximately 10:45 p.m.

The operator of the vehicle, Gage Dyson, 20, of Riverside, Rhode Island, and three passengers in the vehicle, were all transported to Rhode Island Hospital with serious injuries. Another passenger, 17, was transported to Hasbro Hospital in Rhode Island.

At approximately 1:30 a.m., one of the passengers, identified as Travis Rainville, 20, of Rhode Island, passed away as a result of the injuries he sustained during the crash. All the other victims sustained serious, but not life-threatening injuries, according to Dartmouth Police detective Kyle Costa.

It is believed that no one was wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash, Costa said.

The crash is currently under investigation by the Massachusetts State Police Detectives assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office, Dartmouth Detectives, and the Dartmouth Police Department Crash Reconstruction Unit.
