Philip Emond, 70
Philip "Phil" A. Emond, 70, of Dartmouth passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2016 in Brandon Woods after a long illness. He was the beloved husband Eria (Medeiros) Emond.
Born in Bronx, NY a son of the late Roland and Ann (Celletti) Emond he lived in Dartmouth for most of his life and he served in the United States Coast Guard. He was a member of St. George Church, Westport.
Phil retired as 1st assistant engineer to the chief for the Dartmouth Fire Department, District 3. He began a career in emergency serves in 1968 until his retirement ten years ago. He also spent 30 years with Stat Ambulance Service of Dartmouth helping countless people in medical distress.
Mr. Emond enjoyed fishing especially with his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Traci Borges of Westport; two grandchildren, Ted Borges, Jr. and Ashlyn Borges; one great grandchild, Saydee Borges; three sisters, Linda Bernard and her husband James of Dartmouth, Jacqueline Giusti and her husband Eric of Dartmouth, Jill Belliveau and her husband David of Beverly Hills, FL; a brother, Ron "Aba" Emond of Dartmouth; nieces, Julie-Ann Giusti, Kristie Garcia; nephews, Phillip, Justin, and Tim Bernard and Joshua Giusti; and great nieces, Ava and Gillian Garcia and Emerson and Lorelei Bernard.
His funeral will be Saturday, July 23, 2016 at 9 a.m. from the Waring-Sullivan Home at Dartmouth, 230 Russells Mills Rd., Dartmouth followed by a funeral mass at 10 am in St. George Church, 12 Highland Ave., Westport.
