Car drives into building on Faunce Corner Road
A four-door sedan drove into K. Ellis Photocenter on Faunce Corner Road on July 27, at approximately 4:30 p.m.
Store owner Ken Sutton was in his office, located at the back of the shop, when he heard a crash.
"All I heard was a big crash—Boom! Bang!" he said. Knowing that it was too loud to be anything in the shop, Sutton immediately came around front to find the vehicle in his front window.
Dartmouth Police, District No. 3 Firefighters, and Dartmouth's contracted ambulance company—STAT—responded to the call.
"The driver and passenger were seen by EMS, but not transported. Luckily no one was injured in the store either," said Fire Chief Richard Arruda via email.
Arruda said the suite sustained most of the damage, and was inspected and deemed structurally safe by the fire department.
By 7:30 p.m., handymen were boarding up the front of the store for security, but Sutton said he hopes to have the glass repaired by Friday. The store will be open tomorrow for regular hours, 9:30 a.m.-7 p.m., he said.
