While the Dartmouth Police hosted a holiday toy drive outside of Target on December 17, an Acushnet man inside was allegedly attempting to swipe store merchandise.

Target's loss prevention staff notified the nearby police that Patrick Machado, 42, had stolen approximately $120 worth of merchandise, police said.

Machado was arrested and charged with shoplifting by concealing merchandise.
