Dartmouth pedestrian hospitalized after hit by car

A Dartmouth woman was transported to the hospital after being struck by a car on Old Westport Road on March 13.

At approximately 7:24 a.m., police responded to the area of 212 Old Westport Road, near the Cross Road intersection, where 46-year-old Melissa Parker had been hit while walking, police said.

She was transported to Rhode Island Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Parker was treated and released the same day.

Parker had been struck by a 2005 Mercedes operated by Valentino Aiello, 18, of Dartmouth, police said.

No further information regarding the extent of her injuries is available at this time. Police are still investigating.
