Paskamansett Bird Club meeting, April 12

Mar 27, 2017

The Paskamansett Bird Club’s April meeting will be held on April 12 at the Community Hall of Friends Meeting.

Justin Barrett will run a "warbler workshop," helping to prepare attendees for the arrival of spring warblers in early May. The workshop is ideal for beginning and intermediate birders. It will focus on the unique physical traits, song styles, and habitats of various types of warblers. Attendees will use these clues to test their warbler identification skills in a group-wide photo quiz.

Barrett has been hooked on birding since he saw his first warbler in spring of 2009. He was 26 at the time, and a guided nature walk inspired his passion for birds.

Barrett is the Development Operations Manager for Manomet, an organization dedicated to supporting the natural world through science and active management. His work allows him to combine his passion for birding with his dedication to non-profit conservation organizations. He is the president of the Nasketucket Bird Club, based in Mattapoisett and leads many of the club’s walks. Justin enjoys birding, hiking, reading about local history, and spending time with his wife and two children.

The meeting is free, open to the public, and accessible. The meeting house is located at 739 Horseneck Road.
