Quinn students walk halls as their favorite book characters

Each spring, Quinn Elementary sort of goes wild with March Madness, but its celebrations have nothing to do with basketball.

During the month of March, students and staff set themes that determine their attire every Friday, explained Assistant Principal Audra Thomas. The school ended the month with "Favorite Book Character Day."

"This is my personal favorite because so many students and staff become creative in what they wear, connect themselves to their favorite book, and love seeing what others are wearing in their class and in the school," said Thomas.

Previous examples include "Wear Something You Can Read Day," pajama day, green and white day, and decade day.

The March Madness themes are a collaborative effort, and staff try to mix it up each year, said Thomas.
