If you think the Tucker Road light is too long, you're not alone

If you've been thinking that the Tucker Road traffic light seems wicked long, you’re not crazy. Select Board members also want to see the issue addressed.

At the April 24 Select Board meeting, Selectman Shawn McDonald said that the green lights run an extra 20 to 30 seconds beyond normal timing, which backs up eastbound traffic on Route 6.

“There has to be a better synchronization of the lights,” said McDonald.

It's good during morning traffic and school hours, but it's not efficient late at night, said McDonald, adding that the green lights hold for up to 50 seconds.

The board agreed to contact the state Department of Transportation to have the issue fixed.
