On Thursday, June 1, 2017, in a cooperative effort with Dartmouth Police Detectives, members of the Freetown Police Department arrested Justin Alves, 28, of 93 Narrows Road, Assonet, on two outstanding Dartmouth Police warrants.

The most recent warrant was the result of an investigation by Dartmouth Detective Kyle Costa, in which Alves made specific online threats towards a Dartmouth police officer.

"In a day and age where police officers are targets of violence, we take all threats very seriously. I'm very proud of how our Detective Division reacted so quickly to this incident. I would also like to thank the Freetown Police Department for assisting us with the apprehension of Mr. Alves," said Acting Chief Brian Levesque in a news release.
