Dartmouth man killed in early morning crash

A Dartmouth man was killed in an early morning crash on September 21.
According to Dartmouth Police, officers and emergency personnel responded to the area of Routes 6 and 177 at 1:47 a.m. for a report of a single-vehicle crash involving a 2009 Toyota Tacoma. The driver and only occupant of the Tacoma involved in the crash was identified as 58-year-old Dimas Amaral of Dartmouth.
Initial indicators are that Amaral had not been wearing a seatbelt when the crash occurred. He was transported to Rhode Island Hospital where he later died.
The department’s Crash Reconstruction Unit and Detective Division are investigating the crash.
