Brandon J. Sylvia, 20, of Dartmouth died October 27, 2017 unexpectedly at St. Luke's Hospital.

Born in New Bedford, the son of Jason J. and Rebecca T. (Furtado) Sylvia, he lived in Dartmouth most his life. He was employed as a prep cook at several local restaurants.

Brandon attended Dartmouth High School. He enjoyed playing soccer, from youth soccer to high school. He also enjoyed skateboarding and spending time with his girlfriend.

Survivors include his parents; a brother, Noah Sylvia of Allenstown, NH; his girlfriend, Georgianna Erickson of Dartmouth; his grandparents, Thelma (Garcia) Mota and her husband Paul of New Bedford, Simon Furtado and his wife Maria of Fairhaven; Linda (Botelho) Sylvia and her fiancé Jeffrey Pelletier of Wareham and Richard Sylvia, Jr. of Naples, FL; his great-grandparents, Jaime Garcia and his wife Telma of New Bedford, Lydia (Sylvia) Botelho of Westport and Linda (Motta) Sylvia of Naples, FL; his Godparents, Irene Vasques of Dartmouth and Mark St. Pierre of Fairhaven; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was the great-grandson of the late Manuel Botelho, Richard Sylvia, Weber and Gilda Furtado.

His visiting hours will be held on November 3, 3-7 p.m. in the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St. New Bedford with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m.
